Somewhere out there, there's a giant brown trout. We are talking 30 inches long. The fish of a lifetime. He's been caught a couple times, when he was a mere 20 plus incher. Once on a nymph, once on a big giant 7 inch long streamer. He doesn't plan on ever getting caught again. Dozens of boats float by his lair each day, but he hunkers down under a cut bank, unscathed. What will it take to get him? Something he doesn't expect. Enter the Kryptonite Sculpin from Jonathan Farmer. Why? Because it's got a fat head, a squirrel tail that wiggles like crazy, obvious pectoral fins that breathe when you strip or pop the fly. With a hidden bead head, it sinks just right, fast enough to get down to him but not too fast to tip him off that it's a fake. And it's just the right size- not so big that it spooks him, and not so big that it intimidates smaller trout- cause let's be honest, we want to catch them too. This is an extremely well-designed sculpin pattern. If you're going to Alaska, do not be without this fly. It is a side channel weapon of mass destruction. Length: just a hair under 2 inches.
