OPST D2 Sink Tips

Our newest "Dual Density" tips feature both 8-foot sections (for trout spey and single-hand rods) and 10' sections (for your steelhead and salmon applications) of sink tip with different ratios of floating and sinking portions to allow you to quickly get to specific depths of the river. For example, we have an 8ft T-6 and T-8 series with a Full 8ft Sink, 4ft Float/4ft Sink, and a 6ft Sink/2ft Float. The 10-foot T-11 and T-14 sink tips come in the following ratios: 6ft Float/4ft Sink, 4ft Float/6ft Sink, and 2ft Float/8ft Sink.  This allows the tips to fish well at all casting angles, sinking quickly to their fishing depth, and allows for more fly depth control overall. Great for fishing structure in rivers or any other concentrated area you want depth quick like boulder gardens and cut banks, as well as your standard steelhead runs.  We have used dual-density technology since we started making sink tips, and this is the evolution of that thinking!

All our tips have the line ID on the rear of the tip (towards the head), while all the heads have the line ID on the front of the head (towards the tip). This way you are able to grab the connection and know which head and tip you have on at the same time. All our heads and tips feature strong welded loops on both ends for easy rigging.
